Professional Background:

Sam is a transactional real estate attorney at Reed Smith. Her practice focuses on all aspects of commercial leasing (both landlord and tenant side), as well as acquisitions and dispositions. She also has experience working on California land use matters involving entitlements and CEQA review. She works with clients throughout California as well as with local counsel throughout the country.

CREW SF Background:

Sam has been in CREW SF for approximately four years, ever since she started working in the City. She has served as a Sponsorship Committee member the entire time, as well as a liaison to the Community Affairs committee. She is currently the Chair of Sponsorship and will continue to be chair throughout 2019.

Q&A:

1. What advice do you want to give a prospective CREW SF member?

I think the best way to experience the benefits of CREW membership is to get involved in a committee and to take on an active role in that committee. Serving as a liaison to a different committee allowed me to not only meet, but get to know, more people than the committee I originally served. Plus, the people who are active on committees are also the people who regularly attend CREW SF events, so the more you are involved at the committee level, the more you feel engaged with the Chapter at chapter events. I wasn’t very involved in CREW for my first year and a half or so, and felt like I didn’t know anyone at any of the events I attended, and that has changed dramatically by being involved in the Sponsorship committee and taking on a leadership role.

2. What’s a fun fact that you’d like to share about yourself?

I have the completely useless ability to name actors’ and actresses’ prior roles (often back to their Disney/Nickelodeon days) off the top of my head. A sort of human IMDB, if you will. Occasionally, it is helpful at trivia nights.
