Uber HQ Hard Hat Tour – September 18, 2019 On Wednesday, September 18th, around 30 CREW SF members attended the Uber hard hat tour in Mission Bay, hosted by design architect, SHoP Architects, architect of record, Quezada Architecture, and general contractor, Truebeck Construction.  The project consists of two buildings, totaling 423,000 square feet – an 11-story tower at 1455 third St. and a 6-story structure at 1515 Third St.  The buildings are scheduled for completion in mid-2020.
Our tour began inside the construction trailer with the history and overview of the project.  Afterwards, we took a tour of the buildings which were still in the early stages of construction. Our hosts pointed out sustainable features such as the 16-foot operable windows, greatly reducing the need for mechanical ventilation, and fa├žade integrated planters for shading.  After the tour, we headed over to The Ramp for food, drinks and networking.  This was a very fun and informative CREW SF event!
