Event Recap: Leadership in Tech - Women of Inspiration Luncheon

Event Date: January 22, 2020
CREW SF held their first luncheon of the year at an impressive, sold-out event. Attendees came out to hear Julie Zhuo, VP of Product Design at Facebook and Author of The Making of a Manager, and Susan Rozakis, Director of Real Estate + Construction, Bay Area at Google. The event was moderated by our newly inducted 2020 President, Samantha Low, Director at Cushman & Wakefield and Co-Founder of TenantSee.
As moderator, Samantha asked our panelists a broad set of questions ranging from what makes a good manager to whether they preferred the Beatles or BTS (a K-pop group for those who are not familiar). Both Julie and Susan were very open about their experiences as women in commercial real estate and provided invaluable insight to how they dealt with difficult situations and what advice they would give those just entering the CRE world. They shared book recommendations, anecdotal experiences about personal achievements and disappointments, and perspectives on how to achieve family-life balance. It was an inspirational afternoon and, with Julie's book in hand, everyone left energized and ready to share what they learned.
Thank you to the CREW SF programs committee for their hard work and thank you to Alicia Deschamps for kicking off the event and introducing our wonderful panel.
