2022 President's Message

Hello CREW San Francisco! I am honored and excited to serve as President for 2022, and I look forward to meeting all of our members (current and potential) during the coming year.

COVID brought unprecedented challenges, but I continue to be impressed by the flexibility, dedication, and resilience that our chapter has demonstrated over the past two years, especially while navigating ever-evolving limitations on in-person gatherings and widespread work-from-home polices. Although virtual connections have allowed our CREW community to remain strong, I think we are all looking forward to the return of in-person events, which we are hopeful will resume again soon!

This year, our chapter’s efforts will have special focus on member visibility and member connection.

Member Visibility: We believe visibility is key to our mission to develop and advance women as leaders in commercial real estate. Our board and committee leaders are actively seeking out opportunities to highlight individuals and ensure your accomplishments, skills, and talents are visible to the broader commercial real estate community – and we need your help to keep us informed. Please let us know when you receive a promotion or award, land an impressive new job, or are otherwise recognized so that we can celebrate your well-deserved achievements and the breadth and depth of our chapter. We’d also like to feature members in educational content and programming, so offers to host tours of interesting projects on which members are involved or to serve on a panel as an expert in a CRE topic are welcome.

Member Connection: I often hear from members that the supportive community they’ve found in CREW is what differentiates us from other industry organizations. We are building on these strong connections by offering plenty of opportunities to meet and connect in both large groups and small settings. To boost our small group offerings, we are launching a monthly “Meet the Board” series in which a different board member hosts an informal networking session each month. We want to ensure CREW continues to be a welcoming environment and a resource that fosters new ideas, advice, support, and connections (both business and personal) to help all members on their commercial real estate journey.

In addition to these areas of special focus, CREW SF will continue to champion diversity, equity and inclusion as a priority across the organization, including all of our membership, programming, and sponsorship efforts. We are proud to have added a new sponsorship level this year, Titanium, which offers significant benefits at a lower contribution level for certified women-, minority-, and LGBTQ-owned businesses. We look forward to advancing these causes to create a more inclusive commercial real estate industry.
